Church Architecture

• Briarwood Presbyterian Church - Birmingham, Al
  • We have just completed detailed schematic design drawings for a $20 million expansion to include two new Education Buildings housing an Adult Conference Center, Youth activities, Children's Auditorium, Adult Education space and 400 car Parking Deck. Brasfield and Gorrie is the General Contractor for the project. David Payne has designed all of the campus at Briarwood Church since it moved to its present site in 1986 and he and his partner, Mark Lee are continuing to follow the original design motif established by Payne in the eighties.
• Central Baptist Church - Warner Robins, Ga
  • We are in the design development phase for several additions to this church which Mr. Payne designed in 2003. The proposed additions include a new Children's Building, a new Family Life Center with double Gymnasium, and a new 300 seat Fellowship Hall.
• First Baptist Church - Montgomery, Al
  • We are nearing the completion of the construction documents phase for the $11.5 million addition for First Baptist Church. This addition will include a four-story, 45,000 SF preschool and children's Education Building and will also include renovations to the existing children's Education Building, as well as a parking lot for 250 cars.
• Maggie Street Baptist Church - Montgomery, Al
  • We are in the final stages of construction for the $2.4 million Sanctuary renovation and Classroom/ Gymnasium addition for Maggie Street Baptist Church. This project will be completed by June 2008.
• Tenth Street Church of Christ - Opelika, Al
  • We have completed the construction documents for the $1.6 million Fellowship Hall/Kitchen, Administration addition and renovations of education space for Tenth Street Church of Christ. Whatley Construction of Opelika has been selected to do the construction work.

School Architecture

• Central High Freshman Academy - Phenix City, Al
  • We are currently in the construction phase for the $11 million, two-story, 74,000 SF new Central High Freshman Academy for the Phenix City Board of Education. This new school will hold the 500 student freshman class in 21 classrooms and will include a 1,500 seat varsity Gymnasium with varsity and P.E. Locker Facilities and a 200 seat Cafeteria with commercial Kitchen. This project is scheduled to be completed by November 2008.
• Fultondale Elementary School - Fultondale, Al
  • A recently completed project is the $16.3 million, 124,000 SF Fultondale Elementary School for the Jefferson County Board of Education. Occupied in January 2007, Fultondale is a 42 classroom, K-6 elementary school that includes an 800 seat Double Gymnasium, commercial Kitchen, 600 seat Cafeteria with Stage, Music/Band Room, Art Room, Computer Lab, and a 4,500 SF Media Center.
• Irondale Community School - Irondale, Al.
  • We are currently completing the construction documents for the new $7 million, 12 Classroom, Cafeteria with Stage, commercial Kitchen, Gymnasium, and Media Center Addition to this elementary school for the Jefferson County Board of Education.
• Johnny R. Carr Middle School - Montgomery, Al
  • We have just received bids for the $23.5 million, new 126,000 SF, two-story middle school for the Montgomery County Board of Education. It will accommodate between 800 and 1,000 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in 40 classrooms and will include a Gymnasium, Cafeteria, commercial Kitchen, Media Center, and Parking for 160 cars. This joint project has been awarded to Bailey-Harris Construction of Auburn, Alabama.

Government Architecture

• Alabama Public Television - Montgomery, Al
  • The firm recently completed the 2,400 SF Television Studio/Production Facility at the Alabama State House. The project was completed in 2007 for a cost of $250,000.
• State of Alabama EMA - Clanton, Al
  • The firm recently completed the two-story, 12,000 SF highly secure office expansion to the existing Emergency Management Agency building in Clanton. The building structure, which was designed to withstand 200 mph tornadic winds, was completed in 2007 for a cost of $3.5 million.
• Joe Wheeler State Park - Rogersville, Al
  • The firm recently completed 10 new resort quality cottages and infrastructure for the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. This project was completed in 2007 for a cost of $3.4 million.
